Each stakeholder agency, company, or group owns, operates, maintains or plans ITS systems in the region. The Regional ITS Architecture inventory is a list of 'elements' that represent all existing and planned ITS systems in a region as well as non-ITS systems that provide information to or get information from the ITS systems.

Bicycle Parking Facilities This element represents facilities where bicycles can be parked, either paid or unpaid. Facilities may have a financial payment interface for paying for the parking.
Bicycle Parking Management System This element represents a central system that monitors the occupancy of bicycle parking facilities, which can be paid or unpaid.
CAPWIN System The CAPWIN System provides a data communications center and a set of web services to support public safety applications in Maryland, Virginia, and the District.
CHEMTREC Hazardous material information specialist used by public safety agencies in the United States to plan and effect a safe Hazmat response
Clarus The Clarus System offers a one-stop, Internet-based portal for all surface transportation environmental observations, allowing users to tap into the system for easy access to the data. Three critical features make Clarus information unique and separate from other forms of weather information available on the market today: - Specific to Transportation: Clarus specifically provides information related to roadway conditions. - Level of Detail: With the ability to gather data from a vast array of sensors, Clarus enables service providers to generate and deliver targeted and route-specific information. - Quality Control: Clarus performs comprehensive data-quality checks.

Commercial Vehicle Fleet Dispatch Systems Systems that manage or monitor charter bus fleets, major truck fleet operators, taxi services, limo services, etc. Note that the dispatch may actually be outside the state.

DC Fleetshare DC Fleetshare is a state-of-the art scheduling and access system that allows DC employees to make and manage reservations online. Its wireless technology permits drivers to gain access to vehicles without the need to locate keys, contact other personnel for assistance, or enquire as to the current whereabouts of a particular vehicle.

DC Street Car A Light rail system on dedicated routes within the District.
DDOE Air Quality Division This division collects air quality data that is available for archival, planning, and analysis purposes.
DDOE Field Equipment Field equipment owned and operated by the DDOE Includes emissions monitoring stations throughout the District.
DDOT Anti-icing Equipment This element represents anti-icing equipment that is used on bridges and roadways.
DDOT Asset Management Tracks DDOT's infrastructure assets such as bridges, tunnels, streets, sidewalks, traffic signals, street lights, pavement markings, signs, and alleys.
DDOT Bike and Pedestrian Sensors This element represents future bike and pedestrian sensors that could be used to obtain probe information. The sensors could also be used for bike and pedestrian counts during special events.
DDOT Bridge Management System This database identifies all bridges and identifies all pertinent information about the bridges including dimensional and weight limitations and a record of all bridge inspections.

DDOT Dynamic Message Signs Dynamic Message Signs used to provide traveler information on arterials and freeways.
DDOT Emergency Preparedness and Risk Management Division This office focuses on emergency preparedness and Risk Management.
DDOT ESS Environmental sensor stations operated and maintained by DDOT.
DDOT Fleet Vehicles This element represents ITS components contained in DDOT vehicle.

DDOT Infrastructure Project Management Administration IPMA is responsible for the design, engineering, and construction of roadways, bridges, traffic signals, and alley projects in the District of Columbia. IPMA, also manages special construction projects and all roadway assets.
DDOT Infrastructure Security Monitoring Equipment Represents security monitoring equipment for DDOT transportation assets.
DDOT Lane Control Signals This element represents lane control equipment owned and operated by DDOT.
DDOT Motor Coach Management System Planned system under the CVISN program to manage motor coaches parking and access in the district, particularly as related to special events.
DDOT On-Street Parking Equipment Represents on street parking equipment such as: traditional parking meters, smart meters and pay stations that can be electronically connected to parking management systems.
DDOT Parking Operations DDOT Parking Operations Branch is part of the Citywide Program Support Division and manages operations and condition of all parking meters.
DDOT PTSA PTSA is responsible for developing and operating the District of Columbia's Streetcar and Circulator bus system, expanding the District's bike-sharing program, and providing budget and operation oversight for the District's investment in Metrorail and Metrobus.

DDOT PTSA Transit Data Archive This archive includes all TCIP related information such as: ridership, maintenance data, and operational data (e.g., route coverage) for transit properties in the District.
DDOT Public Information Office DDOT Public Information Office distributes information to various media outlets concerning DDOT activities.. ie. TV, Radio, Twitter, and Facebook.
DDOT Public Space Management Public Space Management has management and oversight responsibility for the use and occupancy of the public space.
DDOT Ramp Meters This element represents the ramp metering equipment owned and operated by DDOT.
DDOT Road Weather Information System DDOT road weather information system performs data collection from environmental sensor stations in the field and maintenance vehicles.

DDOT Salt Domes The Salt Domes are where road maintenance materials are stored.
DDOT SIOD Division This element represents the dispatch and administrative functions of SIOD (System Inspection Oversight Division). Includes the Sign Shop.
DDOT Snow Operations Partners with agencies and residents in an effort to clear city streets and sidewalks efficiently and effectively to maintain safe passage throughout the transportation network.
DDOT Speed Monitoring Equipment This element represents the speed monitoring equipment owned and operated by DDOT.
DDOT Street and Bridge Maintenance Represents the Division responsible for maintenance and construction of routine and emergency road situations.
DDOT Street Car Field Equipment This element represents field equipment for the street car system operated by DDOT.
DDOT Streetlights Operations Streetlights operations is part of the Citywide Program Support Division and manages operations and condition of the District's street, alley, bridge, tunnel and navigation lighting systems through a streetlight asset management contract. This element represents the dispatch function of the operations.
DDOT TMC The DDOT TMC is located at the Reeves Center and houses the central control of ITS devices such as CCTV, DMS, traffic signals, and ramp meters. The TMC performs traffic incident management and coordination activities with emergency responders. The DDOT TMC operates 24/7.
DDOT Traffic Count Stations Traffic count stations owned and operated by DDOT.
DDOT Traffic Sensors Real-time volume, occupancy, and speed monitoring equipment.
DDOT Traffic Services Field Maintenance The Traffic Services Field Maintenance Branch installs and maintains traffic control devices such as signs, pavement markings, traffic signals and streetlights.
DDOT Traffic Signals Traffic Signal Controller equipment operated and maintained by DDOT.
DDOT Tunnel Control Room This element manages traffic and security for DDOT controlled tunnels.
DDOT Tunnel Sensors This element represents DDOT sensors inside tunnels including CO sensors and water level sensors.
DDOT Urban Forestry This element represents the administrative operations of DDOT UFA.

DDOT Workzone Safety Devices Safety devices deployed in work zone.
District 911 Call Center Represents the Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) for the District. These PSAPs are centers where emergency calls are received and entered into a system database. The center then routes the information to the appropriate public safety agency for dispatch or response. The center is sometimes also the dispatch center.
District Traveler Information System This system includes the website called godcgo.com. that provides a wide array of traveler/ tourist information for the District including possibly 5-1-1, Web Site or Social Networking.
District Utility Dispatch- Cable This element represents the dispatch center of the Cable company(ies) operating in the district (currently Clear Channel).
District Utility Dispatch- Gas This element represents the dispatch center of the Gas company(ies) operating in the district (currently Washington Gas).
District Utility Dispatch- Power This element represents the dispatch center of the Power company operating in the district (currently Pepco).
District Utility Dispatch- Telephone This element represents the dispatch center of the Telephone and Internet company(ies) operating in the district (currently Verizon, Cox Cable, and Comcast ).
District Utility Dispatch- Water This element represents the dispatch center of the Water company(ies) operating in the district (currently WASA).
District Video Exchange Network System allows district agencies to share resources (e.g., cameras) and video used to monitor the transportation infrastructure.
DMV Accident Reporting System A database of collision information collected by law enforcement and maintained by the District Department of Motor Vehicles, DDOT, and MPD.
DMV Enforcement Enforcement operations for red light running and speed enforcement systems.
DMV Licensing and Registration System This system provides individual and commercial driver's license and vehicle registration within the District. This system provides an interface to the CVISN System.
DMV OS/OW Permitting Planned system for providing oversize and overweight permitting in the district.
DPW Dispatch This element represents the maintenance dispatch functions of District DPW..
DPW Equipment Repair Facility This element represents the equipment repair and maintenance facilities of District DPW.
DPW Parking Enforcement This element represents the parking enforcement function of District DPW.
DPW Vehicles This element represents the District DPW maintenance vehicles.
FEMA Command Center This element represents the FEMA Command Center located in the District that is used to respond to emergencies or disasters that occur in the District.
FEMS Fire-EMS Dispatch This element represents the dispatch function for the District Fire and EMS services.
FEMS Fire-EMS Vehicles This element represents the ITS equipment inside District FEMS vehicles.
Financial Institutions Represents the financial institutions that DDOT and others use for electronic fare payment systems.
FMCSA Commercial Vehicle Information Exchange Window (CVIEW) Commercial Vehicle Information Exchange Window (CVIEW) routes Inspection Reports in near real-time and stores and distributes intrastate and interstate carrier and vehicle snapshots within a state. CVIEW connects to SAFER for exchange of interstate snapshots and other reports and data. CVIEW is an electronic data exchange system or 'portal' that connects the various systems in the District.
FMCSA IFTA and HUT IFTA is a national clearinghouse designed to allocate fuel taxes between multiple states for motor carrier activities across jurisdictional lines, in accordance with the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA). The HUT system collects Highway Use Taxes (HUT) from motor carriers associated with commercial vehicle operations in the District.
FMCSA SAFER and COMPASS An on-line system that will be available to users over a nationwide data network which will return a standard carrier safety fitness record to the requesters.
Homeland Security Command Center The operations center of Homeland Security
HSEMA Center The Homeland Security Emergency Management Agency Center serves as the Emergency Operations Center for the District.
I-95 CC Information Exchange Network I-95 Corridor Coalition (eastern states) incident, traffic, and traveler information exchange network.
Local DPW Dispatch This element represents Maryland and Virginia county or municipality maintenance operations dispatch.
Local EOC This element represents Maryland and Virginia county or municipal emergency operations centers that coordinate emergency response with HSEMA.
Local Fire/EMS Dispatch This includes Maryland and Virginia city or county fire and EMS dispatch systems.
Local Police/Sheriff Dispatch Represents Maryland and Virginia city, town, village police departments or county sheriffs departments dispatch functions.
Local Traffic Control Centers Central control and operation of Maryland or Virginia city and county ITS field equipment, including traffic signals, CCTV cameras and dynamic message signs. Includes systems for Montgomery and Prince Georges Counties.
Local Transit or Rail Operators Systems Represent regional, city, or county-operated transit or rail systems, including Montgomery County Ride-On, Fairfax Connector, VRE, and MARC.
Local Transit or Rail Operators Transit Data Archives This archive includes ridership, maintenance data, and operational data (e.g., route coverage) for transit or rail properties in Maryland or Virginia. This database can support federal reporting requirements (Section 5311). System designers may use the data to validate their work.
MATOC MATOC is a regional information exchange network that provides for the interchange of transportation and incident information. Key agencies include: MDSHA, VDOT, DDOT, and WMATA.
MD and VA State EOCs This element represents State EOCS in Maryland and Virginia including the Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) Statewide Operations Centers and the VDOT Transportation Emergency Operations Center (TEOC) in Richmond
MDSHA CHART Centers Coordinated Highways Action Response Team (CHART) Statewide Operation Center (SOC) is a Specific Element that represents the systems and personnel responsible for improving the real-time operations of Maryland's highway system through teamwork and technology. The CHART SOC is located in Hanover, MD. This center houses the backbone database for multiple transportation operations in Maryland, and provides a connection between the regional CHART Traffic Operations Centers (TOCs) located throughout the state, as well as various other transportation stakeholder agencies. Specific systems housed at the SOC include the CHART ITS operating system, the Emergency Operations Reporting System (EORS), the CHART Website, among others. CHART is responsible for operating ITS systems, traffic control, coordinating with other agencies during incidents, and performing other traffic engineering to improve highway operations.
MPD Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit Unit of MPD responsible for enforcement of Commercial Vehicle regulations.
MPD Police Dispatch Dispatch center for Metropolitan Police Department.

MWAA Systems This element represents systems own and run by Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority which not only provide flight information of Metropolitan Washington Area Airports including Dulles International Airport and Reagan National Airport, but also provide traffic management on Dulles Toll road and future Dulles rail as well.
MWCOG TPB Database A multimodal transportation data archive operated by the MWCOG.
National Capital Planning Commission Systems This element represents NCPC systems that can send or receive data from DDOT or other stakeholders in the region.
National Park Service Centers - DC This element responds to incidents that occur in the District of Columbia and provides traffic management centers with incident data.
National Weather Service Service for national, regional, and local weather information.
NPS Maintenance National Park Service maintenance operations.
Other DDOT Traffic Devices This element represents DDOT traffic signals and other traffic devices that can be interconnect for implementation of adaptive control or other ITS services.
Private Mayday/Concierge Service Center National services (e.g., GM On-Star) that provide Mayday and traveler information services for their customers.
Private Newspaper, Television, Radio Stations, and Social Networking Local television, radio, and newspapers.
Private Traffic Detection Providers Private systems that provide traffic detection or probe information (such as Traffic.com, Speedinfo, and INRIX)
Private Traveler Information Device Personal devices used by the traveling public. Includes PCs, pagers, etc.
Private Traveler Information Systems Represents the private traveler information providers serving the region. This element could, in the future, provide support to the National Traveler Information 511 number since it collects information from a broad array of operating centers. Could also include a website.
Private Traveler Vehicles Vehicles owned by travelers.
Private Weather Service Systems Private weather information providers.
Rail Operations Centers Rail Operations centers for private rail that operates in the district.
Regional Bike/ Car Sharing Represents bike sharing and car sharing activities.
Regional Bus Terminals Represents bus terminals where transfer between transit lines is possible.
Regional Electronic Toll Administration Represents the toll collection administrative systems for future electronic toll facilities in the district.
Regional Electronic Toll E-ZPass CSC The CSC (Customer Service Center) is one of a network of CSCs that allow reciprocity for E-ZPass travelers across several toll systems across the North East. These cooperating agencies are all members of the Inter-Agency Group (IAG).
Regional Electronic Toll System Represents the toll collection field equipment for future district toll collection capabilities.
Regional Emergency Coordination System This element represents systems like WebEOC and CapWIN that are used during major incidents.
Regional Event Promoters Represents statewide and regional event information systems.
Regional Medical Centers Medical centers (e.g. hospitals and trauma centers) throughout the region.
Regional Parking Management Systems Represents systems of private parking providers, including parking lots and parking facilities adjacent or closely associated with multi-modal facilities.
Regional Smart Card Existing (DC One Card) or future regional smart card used for transit, parking meters and other applications.
Regional Transit Fare Card Reciprocity Network Network used to reconcile payments across transit networks using the same fare cards.
RITIS Regional transportation information sharing system operated within the District, Maryland, and Virginia.
Roadway Operations Patrol Responds to traffic incidents, emergencies and roadway activity in the city with trained roadway patrol.
Smart Bike Stands Stands used for storing and checking out Smart Bikes.
Smart Bikes Bikes used as part of the SmartBike System.
Smart Trip Transit fare payment card.
Special Events Task Group This element represents the planning and operations functions of the Special Events Task Group responsible for planning and execution of special events in the district.
Union Station Inter-city rail terminal which operates out of Union Station.
US Secret Service Center This element represents the operations center of the US Secret Service.
USCP Command Center United States Capital Police Command Center
VDOT NRO MPSTOC The McConnell Public Safety and Transportation Operations Center (MPSTOC) is on West Ox Road at the Fairfax County Parkway, housing the Fairfax County Department of Public Safety Communications (9-1-1 Communication Center), the Office of Emergency Management and the county's Emergency Operations Center, along with the Virginia State Police Division 7 dispatchers and call-takers. MPSTOC is a nerve center of an integrated system of advanced technologies including computer software, traffic cameras, lane control strategies, ramp meters, reversible control gates, and HOV lane restrictions. From the MPSTOC, VDOT monitors and manages traffic, recognizes and responds to incidents, and instantly delivers information to motorists. VDOT MPSTOC is responsible for monitoring and managing traffic conditions on I-495, I-95/395, and I-66. It includes OpenTMS Software, the ASSIST Program, LCMS (Lane Closure Management System) and HAR.
VDOT Video Clearinghouses Statewide video clearinghouse for dissemination of VDOT and other agency video images in the region. This element also represents a desire to include DC and MD video into the video clearinghouse.
Vehicle Electrification Station Stations used to provide recharging of electrical vehicles in the district.
WMATA Bus Operations Control Center The WMATA operations center that controls all of the WMATA buses operating in the district. BOCC provides dispatch function, incident management and tracking for bus operators.
WMATA Customer Information Systems This element represents the WMATA Trip Planning and Next Bus/Train systems available on line.
WMATA Kiosks Kiosks, e-alerts, and other traveler information services offered by WMATA for transit users in the region.
WMATA Rail Operations Control Center ROCC provides train movement and wayside device monitoring and control, including third rail power. Also provides incident management.
WMATA Regional Fare Payment System This element represents an existing back office environment for housing electronic fare payment information for the VA/DC/MD areas. Currently, this element represents the smart card clearinghouse for WMATA.
