AMTRAK AMTRAK provides passenger rail service across the country, including in this Region.
Archive Data Users Organizations or systems that access and use archived data.
Army Corps of Engineers The Army Corps of Engineers who is responsible for the bridges, causeways, dams, etc.. that are within West Virginia.
Barbour County Senior Center The transit service provider that operates Here and There Transit, a demand response transit service that serves Barbour County. They have scheduled trips to various destinations (Clarksburg, Elkins or Buckhannon) throughout the week.
Bluefield Transit System (BTS) The regional transit provider that services Mercer, Welch and McDowell Counties and the Bluefield/Princeton Area. They operate a deviated fixed route system throughout the counties, which includes the ability for residents to flag down the buses for pickup. Also operate a dial-a-ride demand response service in the area (as well as a non-emergency transport service).
City of Charleston This represents various departments of the City of Charleston, including traffic, maintenance and construction, etc.
City of Charleston Police Department Represents the police department for the City of Charleston.
City of Charleston Public Safety Represents the public safety organizations within the City of Charleston (e.g. fire, EMS, etc.)
City of Huntington This represents various departments of the City of Huntington, including traffic, maintenance and construction, etc.
City of Huntington Police Department Represents the police department for the City of Huntington.
City of Huntington Public Safety Represents the public safety organizations within the City of Huntington (e.g. fire, EMS, etc.)
Concierge Service Provider Provider of subscription based service or advisory function for commercial vehicles.
County Office of Emergency Services Represents the generic county agencies and departments that coordinate emergency responses during major disasters or incidents.
County Public Safety Represents the public safety agencies at the county level, including fire and EMS.
County Sheriff Represents the county sheriff in each county within the State.
Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority (EPTA) The transit service provider that operates in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia, including Martinsburg, Charles Town, and Shepherd University. EPTA operates a deviated fixed route transit service throughout the region, as well as providing a demand response transit service only to Inwood, Shepherdstown and Hedgesville. Also provides service to train station that serves the MARC train to Washington DC.

Financial Institutions Financial companies involved in electronic payment transactions.
FMCSA Federal Motor Carrier Safety Agency. The agency in the US Department of Transportation responsible for commercial vehicle operations.
IFTA Inc The corporation that administers the IFTA Clearinghouse.
Independent School Districts School districts in the region.
IRP Inc The corporation that administers the IRP Clearinghouse for netting of registration funds. The International Registration Plan (IRP) is a cooperative agreement for registering vehicles that travel interstate. Under the IRP, interstate carriers must file an application(s) with the jurisdiction in which they are based.
Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority (KVRTA) This public agency provides transit services for the Kanawha Valley and Charleston. KVRTA operates the following types of service: fixed route, demand response, trolley and Medicaid and complementary paratransit transit services.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KTC) The statewide transportation department for Kentucky.
Local River Authorities Local authorities that monitor the water levels of the rivers in West Virginia.
Maryland State Highway Administration (MSHA) The statewide transportation department for Maryland.
Mid-Ohio Valley Transit Authority (MOVTA) The transit service provider that operates EasyRider, a deviated fixed route transit service that serves the cities of Parkesburg and Vienna. They also provide a paratransit service to these areas.
Monongalia County Urban Mass Transit Authority The transit service provider that operates Mountain Line Transit that provides transit services for Monongalia County, including the greater Morgantown area and WVU. Mountain Line operates the following types of service: deviated fixed route and Medicaid shuttle services. Also have transit vehicles that run to Pittsburgh, Clarksburg and Fairmont.
Municipal Government Department of municipalities that operates the municipal websites.
Municipal Maintenance Departments Departments providing maintenance and construction operations in the municipalities in the State. Also provides the maintenance garage where signals and municipal vehicles are serviced.
Municipal Public Safety Agencies Public Safety agencies in the municipalities in the State (other than Charleston).
Municipal Traffic Departments Represents the traffic sections of municipalities throughout the State.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) US Agency that is responsible for national and local weather forecasting and broadcasting.
National Park Service A bureau of the United States Department of the Interior, the National Park Service operates and manages the national park system.
Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Ohio Department of Transportation.
Ohio Valley Regional Transit Authority (OVRTA) The Regional Transit Authority that services the Wheeling area (and other areas outside the State). The OVRTA operates deviated fixed route transit vehicles. EORTA in Ohio.
Other County/State Government Governments of the counties and states that border West Virginia (Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Ohio) that have ITS infrastructure that will coordinate with WVDOT, or other West Virginia agencies.
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PENNDOT) The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation
Potomac Valley Transit Authority (PVTA) The regional transit authority that serves the following counties: Hampshire County, Grant County, Hardy County, Mineral County and Pendleton County. Also has service routes to Harrisburg, VA and to Winchester, VA. The PVTA provides deviated fixed route transit service to the counties it service, as well as non-emergency medical transport services.
Preston County Senior Citizens, Inc. The transit service provider that operates Buckwheat Express, a deviated fixed route transit service that serves Preston County.
Private Commercial Carriers Private commercial vehicle operators.
Private Power Companies Companies that own and operate nuclear power plants throughout the state of West Virginia, providing power to the residents of West Virginia.
Private Tow/Wreckers, and Cleanup Service Providers Represents private towing companies operating in the state.
Private Transit Providers Represents private transit or shuttle providers throughout the state. May include shuttles, vans, ferries or other.
Private Traveler Information Service Providers Local, regional and national information service providers that provide travel information, including local media (print, TV and radio), Internet sites, service bureaus, etc...
Private Travelers Traveling public accessing various modes of transportation, including surface street, air, rail/transit and non-motorized.
Public and Private Utilities Includes water, power, cable and other public or private utilities.
Public/Private Ambulance Providers Represents the public or private ambulance providers throughout the State.
Rahall Transportation Institute (RTI) Nick J. Rahall, II Appalachian Transportation Institute is part of Marshall University with data storage capacity and is a USDOT University Transportation Center.
Railroad Operators Companies that operate freight railroad in the region.
Regional Airport Authorities Regional agencies in charge of the regional Airports throughout the State.
Regional and County Public Safety Agencies Regional or county agencies that are responsible for the 9-1-1 call centers throughout the State.
Regional Event Promoters Represents the many organizations whose facilities hold events that have significant impact on traffic or transit.
Regional Hospitals Regional hospitals and trauma centers.
Regional MPOs and PDCs Represents the Metropolitan Planning Organizations and Planning Development Councils throughout the entire state of West Virginia.
Regional Transit Agencies Other transit agencies in the State (not specifically called out by as stakeholders). This includes (but is not limited to) Weirton Transit Corporation (WTC), Little Kanawha Bus Company (LKBC), Mountain Transit Authority (MTA), Steel Valley Regional Transit Authority (SVRTA), Central West Virginia Transit Authority, CWVTA (Centra), Fairmont-Mation County Transit (FMCTA), Morgantown Group Rapid Transit (MGRT), West Virginia University Bus Service and Personal Rapid Transit (WVUBS), Community Action Lines (CAL), and Wayne X-Press.
Senior Citizens of WVA Generic stakeholder that represents the senior citizens groups throughout the State that provide demand response transit service to their perspective Region.
Service Agencies Agencies providing monetary support services to the aged, poor, disadvantaged or persons on Medicaid.
Special Police Forces Represents the police forces for Universities/Colleges, Airports, Railroads and park and forest rangers.
Statewide Office of Emergency Services This represents emergency management agencies at state, regional and municipal levels that could share emergency information.
The Transit Agency (TTA) The Regional Transit Authority that services the Huntington area (including Marshall University). TTA operates fixed route transit vehicles, as well as a demand response and complimentary paratransit service.
Tri-River Transit Authority (TRTA) Created in 2000 for the purpose of providing a range of public transportation services in Lincoln, Logan and Boone Counties. TRTA provides a deviated fixed route service and NETS (Non-Emergency Transit Service program), which includes Medicaid transportation services for the elderly and the disabled. Estimated to serve 200,000 people by March 2006.
TV and Radio Stations Television, Radio and Print Media (including TV network affiliates).
US Department of Homeland Security Agency of Federal Government responsible for homeland security.
USDA Forest Service An agency of the United States Department of Agriculture, the USDA Forest Service manages the national forests and grasslands.
USGS US Geological Survey - federal agency responsible for the country's natural and living resources, natural hazards and the environment.
Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Virginia Department of Transportation.
West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection includes the Division of Air Quality which has the responsiblity of monitoring air quality in the state.
West Virginia Division of Tourism Represents the Division of Tourism for the State of West Virginia.
West Virginia Public Service Commission (PSC) Department of the state responsible for the regulation of utilities and transportation safety for the State of West Virginia. Its responsibilities include commercial vehicle safety and enforcement throughout the State.
West Virginia State Police Statewide agency responsible for emergency operations and who are responsible for public safety of rural highways, freeways and state owned or leased buildings.
WV Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency in West Virginia responsible for homeland security.
WV DOH - Maintenance The Division of Highways for the West Virginia Department of Transportation that has the responsibility for maintaining the highways, byways, scenic routes, the turnpike and public roads. The division also does roadway construction and maintenance of ITS field equipment.
WV DOH - Traffic Engineering The Division of Highways for the West Virginia Department of Transportation that has the responsibility for traffic operations on state roads throughout the state (includes operating field devices such as RWIS).
WV Parkways Authority Represents the division of the West Virginia DOT that is responsible for the parkways (WV Turnpike) for the State.
WVDOT - Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) West Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. This department is the lead agency for Commercial Vehicle Operations in the State.
WVDOT Courtesy Patrol The roadway service patrol provider for the State of West Virginia. This service is currently contracted to Citizens Conservation Corps of West Virginia (CCCWV).
WVU - West Virginia University State University with main campus in Morgantown.
