Stakeholders

The Yoakum Regional ITS Architecture represents the consensus input of a diverse set of stakeholders, encompassing traffic, transit, public safety, and many other operating agencies at local, county, state, and national levels.  It includes both public and private sectors and spans the organizations that manage, support, or are impacted by the surface transportation system in the Yoakum Region. 

Stakeholder Description
Army Corp of Engineers The Army Corps of Engineers who is responsible for the bridges, causeways, etc.. that are within the Yoakum region.
Bay City All of the departments in Bay City.
City of Victoria Represents overall the municipal government and miscellaneous departments for the City of Victoria.
City of Victoria Fire Department Provides fire, rescue and emergency medical services to the City of Victoria.
City of Victoria MPO The Metropolitan Planning Organization for the City of Victoria.
City of Victoria Police Department Law enforcement provider for the City of Victoria.
City of Victoria Public Works Division Department responsible for the overall management and control of vehicular and pedestrian traffic within the City. The Public Works Division includes the Street Department, Fleet Maintenance,
City of Victoria Street Department The department responsible for maintaining the streets and infrastructure for the City of Victoria.
City of Victoria Traffic Control Division Provides the traffic operations function for the City of Victoria.
Colorado Valley Transit Provider of transit services including scheduled route-line transportation, deluxe motor coach charters and shuttles, customized group tour packages, quality escorted tours, and convention coordination and planning.
Commercial Vehicle Operators Private commercial vehicle operators
Correctional Facilities Federal, State and County correctional facilities
County Emergency Management Agencies Coordination of mitigation and response for natural and man-made disasters and emergencies
County Road and Bridge County agencies responsible for maintaining county roads and bridges in the Yoakum Region.
County Sheriff County law enforcement for the counties in the Yoakum region.
DPS Texas Department of Public Safety
DPS Division of Emergency Management DPS division responsible for mitigation and response for natural and man-made disasters and emergencies.
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Financial Institution Banks involved in the transfer of funds for toll and fare collection as well as for other fee based transportation services.
FTA - Federal Transit Agency The Federal Transit Agency on the national level.
Golden Crescent Regional Planning Commission The regional planning commission for Golden Crescent Transit and the surrounding areas.
Golden Crescent Transit A regional transit provider within the region that provides fixed route and demand responsive transit service.
Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority The Authority was created as a conservation and reclamation district with responsibilities to control, store, preserve, and distribute the waters of the Guadalupe River and its tributary system for useful purposes.
Independent School Districts Includes public schools throughout the Yoakum Region.
Lavaca-Navidad River Authority The River Authority that monitors the Lavaca and Navidad Rivers.
Local Media Includes both print (newspaper) and broadcast (TV, radio) news media.
Local Transit Operators Local transit agencies (public or private) that service the Yoakum region not explicitly called out in this architecture.
Lower Colorado River Authority Authority responsible for developing and managing a system which will meet the present and long term freshwater needs of municipal, agricultural and industrial consumers, to protect its quality, to insure its affordability, and to establish conditions which will enhance economic development throughout its jurisdiction.
Municipal Convention and Visitors Bureau Organization responsible for event information in the municipalities of the TxDOT Yoakum region and surrounding region.
Municipal or County Government County or local city/town/village offices and departments within the Yoakum region.
Municipal or County Public Safety Local city or county agencies responsible for emergency coordination within the Yoakum region.
Municipal Public Works Department Local city department responsible for street maintenance within the Yoakum region.
National Forest Service Federal agency that manages public lands in national forests and grasslands
NOAA National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (National Weather Service).
Non-Profit LLC A nonprofit limited liability company that controls the emergency response information center. They are located in the Houston research park in Houston.
Private Equipment Repair Providers Private providers of equipment repair facilities that are contracted by the cities within the region.
Private Information Service Providers Local, regional and national information service providers that provide travel information, including local media (print, TV and radio), Internet sites, service bureaus, etc
Private Taxi Providers Private companies providing taxi service.
Private Tow/Wrecker Providers Private towing companies
Private Transportation Providers Other private transportation providers not specifically called out within the region.
Private Travelers Traveling public accessing various modes of transportation, including surface street, air, rail/transit, and non-motorized.
Private/Public Ambulance Providers Private ambulance providers within the region.
Public Health Providers Public health providers on the county, municipal, and regional level.
Rail Operators Operators of private rail systems (e.g. Union Pacific,), including passenger and freight.
Regional Airports Regional Airports located within the TxDOT Yoakum district.
Regional Medical Center Hospital/trauma centers in the region.
Regional Mobility Toll Road Authority Future toll road operating authority.
Regional Transit Agencies Other transit agencies not specifically called out within the region.
Service Agencies State and Federal agencies who subsidize the funding of paratransit and other demand response providers.
South Texas Nuclear Power Providers Providers of power within the region from a nuclear power plant.
Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Formerly Texas Natural Resource Conservation Committee; the TCEQ monitors emissions in the region.
Texas DEM Texas Department of Environmental Management (DEM).
Texas Department of Health The Department of Health for the state of Texas.
TxDOT Texas Department of Transportation
U.S. Coast Guard The United States Coast Guard.
USGS US Geological Survey - federal agency responsible for the country's natural and living resources, natural hazards, and the environment.
Victoria Transit A Transit service provider within the TxDOT Yoakum region.
Volunteer Fire Departments Volunteer fire departments that operate within the region.
