Stakeholders

The El Paso Regional ITS Architecture represents the consensus input of a diverse set of stakeholders, encompassing traffic, transit, public safety, and many other operating agencies at local, county, state, and national levels.  It includes both public and private sectors and spans the organizations that manage, support, or are impacted by the surface transportation system in the El Paso Region.

AMTRAK National inter-city passenger train service. The railroad's official name is the National Railroad Passenger Corporation.

City of El Paso Represent overall city government and misc departments such as that responsible for the airport.
City of El Paso Engineering Department Mission of Engineering Department is to engineer and operate the City's traffic system.
City of El Paso Fire Department CIty department responsible for fire, HAZMAT, EMS, and emergency management.
City of El Paso Fleet Services The Fleet Services Department maintains the City fleet, providing maintenance and repair to over 2500 vehicles
City of El Paso Police Department The Police Department provides public safety services for the city.
City of El Paso Street Department The Street Department is comprised of the Street and Flood Control Division, Traffic Signals and Signs Division and the International Bridges and Parking Meters Division.
City of El Paso Street Dept. and Sun Metro Represents a joint stakeholder involved in implementation of the regional smart card.
City of Las Cruces City government of Las Cruces, New Mexico
Commercial Vehicle Operators Private commercial vehicle operators
Correctional Facilities State and County Correctional Facilities in the region.
County Emergency Management Agencies Coordination of mitigation and response for natural and man-made disasters and emergencies
County Road and Bridge County agency responsible for maintaining county roads and bridges in the Beaumont Region
County Sheriff County public safety.
DPS Texas Department of Public Safety
DPS Division of Emergency Management DPS division responsible for mitigation and response for natural and man-made disasters and emergencies.
El Paso Convention and Visitors Bureau Organization providing event and traveler information for El Paso
El Paso County Rural Transit El Paso County transit that provides fixed route services for the county areas outside of the City of El Paso.
El Paso MPO Metropolitan Planning Organization responsible for long term planning in region.
Federal Bureau of Investigation US Government agency.
Financial Institution Banks involved in the transfer of funds for toll and fare collection as well as for other fee based transportation services.
IBWC International Boundary and Water Commission
Independent School Districts Includes public school districts throughout the El Paso region: El Paso, Socorro and Ysleta.
Juarez IMIP Juarez Planning Organization. Similar in function to an MPO.
Las Cruces MPO Metropolitan Planning Organization for Las Cruces, New Mexico
Local Media Includes both print (newspaper) and broadcast (TV, radio) news media.
Municipal or County Public Safety Local city or county agencies responsible for emergency coordination.
Municipal Public Works Department Local city department responsible for street maintenance.

Private Information Service Providers Local, regional and national information service providers that provide travel information, including local media (print, TV and radio), Internet sites, service bureaus, etc
Private Rural Transit Systems Private companies providing fixed route services in the rural areas of the region.
Private Taxi Providers Private companies providing taxi service.
Private Tow/Wrecker Providers Private towing companies
Private Travelers Traveling public accessing various modes of transportation, including surface street, air, rail/transit, and non-motorized.
Rail Operators Operators of private rail systems (e.g. Kansas City Southern), including passenger and freight.
Regional Emergency and Public Safety Agencices Provide response for natural and man-made disasters and emergencies.
Regional Event Facilities Organizations that are responsible for regional event facilities.
Regional Medical Center Hospital/trauma centers in the region.
Regional University/Colleges Community colleges and University of Texas El Paso.
Regional Utility Companies Private utility companies in the region.
Sun Metro Transit Sun Metro, the City of El Paso's Mass Transit Department, is El Paso’s citywide transit system
Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Formerly Texas Natural Resource Conservation Committee; the TCEQ can provide weather data to help in the forecasting of hazardous spill plumes
Travel Service Providers Represents hotel, motel, restaurants, and other travel service providers.
