Description: A dynamic (or also variable) message sign (DMS) is an electronic traffic sign used on roadways to give travelers information about special events. DMS signs warn of traffic congestion, accidents, incidents, roadwork zones, or speed limits on a specific highway segment. ODOT provides a total of 15 DMS along their freeways to provide accident, work zone and amber alert information.
