Architecture Geographic Scope

The Capital District Regional ITS Architecture represents the consensus input of a diverse set of stakeholders, encompassing traffic, transit, public safety, and many other operating agencies at local, county, state, and national levels.  It includes both public and private sectors and spans the organizations that manage, support, or are impacted by the surface transportation system in the Capital District region. 

Stakeholder Description
Albany International Airport Agency/authority responsible for operation of Albany International Airport.
Albany Medical Center Organization responsible for operation of the Albany medical center.
Capital District ATIS - Advanced Traveler Information System Stakeholder responsible for development of an integrated advanced traveler information service in the Capital District.
Capital Region OFT Capital region organization responsible for the MAGIS system.
Capital Region Rail Operators CSX, Guilford, Amtrak, and CP Rail
CDTA - Capital District Transportation Authority Capital District Transportation Authority
CDTC - Capital District Transportation Committee Regional Transportation Planning Organization
City of Albany/City of Schenectady/Local Municipalities or Counties Local counties and municipalities traffic management systems.
Financial Institutions Represents the banks and financial clearinghouses that manage the exchange of funds between transportation service providers and transportation service users.
Inter-Agency Group Multi-agency group that coordinates electronic toll payment and management within the Northeast.
Local DPW - Department of Public Works Local Department of Public Works
Local Media Local Print and Broadcast Media (Radio and Television)
Local Public Safety Law enforcement, emergency medical and fire and rescue service providers.
Local Transit Agencies Transit providers.
MedFlight Emergency medical helicopter service provider.

Private Weather Service Providers Private Weather Service Providers
Regional Cellular Telephone Companies Cellular telephone service provider. Used in the Capital District ATIS project for cellular telephone-based probes.
Regional Emergency Management Agencies Reginal emergency management agencies such as County and City EOCs, and New York State Emergency Management Operations (SEMO).
Regional Transportation Information Users Users of archived data management systems of public and private agencies within the region.
