These links provide different entry points for the Elements that make up the Bay Area ITS Architecture. An Element in the Bay Area ITS Architecture is the name given by the stakeholders for a portion of their ITS related operations. These Elements fall into four general categories:

  • Field devices (e.g. 511.org Roadside Equipment)
  • Vehicles (e.g. MUNI Fixed Route Vehicles)
  • Traveler Interface Devices (e.g. Kiosks (transit)

For each Element the following information is provided:

  • Description of the Element
  • Stakeholder for the Element
  • What function the Element performs (called Mapping on the detail pages) (e.g. Traffic Management)
  • Interfaces the Element has in the Architecture
  • ITS Services Diagrams the Element is a part of (listed under Market Packages on the detail page)
  • Element Functions (called Equipment Packages on the Detail page)
