Architecture Scope

The scope of the Regional ITS Architecture can be described in terms of: 1) the size of the region and jurisdictions covered (geographic scope), 2) the planning or time horizon, and 3) the variety of transportation services that are covered. This scope is defined in the context of adjacent and overlapping Regional ITS Architectures.

Description

The regional ITS architecture for the FMPO that will manage congestion, improve traveler information, and improve safety for users of the transporation system.

Geographic Scope

Farmington, Aztec, Bloomfield, and San Juan County in New Mexico

Service Scope

Traffic management, emergency response and coordination, regional traveler information. public transit communications, and commercial vehicle operations. This architecture for the FMPO will be incorporated into the NMDOT Statewide ITS architecture.
