Description

The Department of Public Works provides the District’s most visible municipal services to keep the city clean, protect public safety, ease traffic flow and create turnover in parking spaces. DPW serves all District residents, businesses, visitors and commuters by providing solid waste services, including bulk trash collection, leaf and holiday tree collections, trash collection, recycling collection, street and alley cleaning, litter and graffiti removal, and solid waste education and enforcement; parking enforcement, including ticketing and towing, booting and impoundment, and removing abandoned and dangerous vehicles; fleet management, including fueling and vehicle maintenance services.
